Born in Sicily; named Solo. There would be no other Lupos in the future; his mother would not be able to have more babies. Hard times force the Lupo family to migrate to Argentina. They are taken in by Solo's uncle who owns a large cattle ranch. Twelve years pass. The Lupos are doing well. Solo is growing into manhood. He has become an expert horseman and the handler of cattle over the years spent at the ranch. Destino enters. His mother inherits a grocery store in San Francisco, America. The move makes Solo very unhappy; he doesn't want to go. But time makes changes. Solo meets Frisco Lil, Peg Leg Bates, and a host of colorful characters. His life changes dramatically when Peg Leg teaches Solo how to draw and shoot a six-shooter. Again Destino enters to change Solo's life. Peg Leg is murdered and three men are involved. Solo settles on his ranch in Blandings, and goes about becoming a rancher. Many changes have taken place in Solo's life. The quiet farming life is not Solo's fate. He meets several famous people: British gambler/gun fighter Benjamin F. Thompson, John Wesley Hardin, the Buffalo Soldiers of the 10th United States Cavalry, Comancheros and Comanches. Beautiful woman, also, help make changes in Solo's life: soiled doves, calico queens, a beautiful Apache woman chief-warrior, and a sultry wild Comanche princess. Destino leads Solo to a final showdown. Eight against one; can Solo beat the odds?
