I recommend reading this book for several reasons:
1. It's easy to read. I would say too easy, like the author was talking to some pupils. But the insight behind is unparallelly profound.
2. The book was written beautifully and elegantly.
3. The book depicted the development of the human knowledge in a scientific way. You will be probably surprised to find some funny facts, like the number 0 was only be commonly used after 1200 AD.
4. The book revealed many interesting research findings which will trigger your mind. One of them is asking yourself two questions: 1) how much would you be willing to pay to eliminate a one-in-a-thousand immediate death? and 2) how much to be paid to accept such risk? Please write down your answers and think about it.
5. The readers will happily encounter lots of greatest names such as Pascal, Galileo, Newton and Gauss. It's also a great pleasure to finally know their relationship in history even though you might be more familiar with them than with your uncles.
