57 Over time, I've became increasingly aware that the world is divided into people who wait for others to give them permission to do the things they want to do and people who grant themselves permission. 71 I required my student to write a failure resume. That is, to craft a resume that summerizes all their biggest screwups -- personal, professional, and academic. As a result, publishers continue to produce many different books, hoping that each will be a success but knowing that only a tiny faction will make it onto the bestseller list. 181 Reflecting on his life, my father determined that his most important insight is that you shouldn't take yourself too seriously nor judge others too harshly.
