评the Kite Runner
I used to recommend this book to a ten-year-old, and I found that it was a huge mistake. It is not the kind of book that a child should read. Once they reach a certain age, such as 15, they can better appreciate and understand it.

评The House of Mirth
Love all of Edith Wharton's works. I admire her primarily because she is the first female writer who won a Pulitzer Prize, which was a remarkable achievement given the social background. Wrote an essay on five of her novels, including this one. She is very good at writing social satires, and this one is exemplary of her narrative style.
