波伏娃的语言一向都比较平淡，但是对于女性在婚姻中出现的状况描述的很到位，也很喜欢里面主人公的自我剖析和心理活动以及与伴侣之间对话的描写。所反映的问题非常贴近真实生活的状况。我觉得这大概都归功于波伏娃自己的经历吧，虽然与萨特是自由情侣，但是波伏娃毕竟是女人，长此以往难免会孤单，会嫉妒，会失落，会想要独自占有自己的丈夫。里面的三篇短文，也许都间接透露出波伏娃自己的苦衷与无奈，都是她自己的独白。
