长期以来人们认为性格内向是坏事情,但是这是一种偏见。就像曾经人们认为理性是好的,而情感是非理智,所以不好一样,这种偏见是错误的。 荣格认为性格内向或外向是天生的,取决于人的生理结构,现代科学证明了这一点。因为荣格认为,让一个人全面发展的必要条件就是不要违背他的天性,即:不要努力的把性格内向的人转变为外向的人。内向有它存在的理由。
但遗憾的是,由于世界上有75%的人是性格外向的或偏向外向的人,由于外向者更偏向于发表观点或交际,结果是话语权牢牢的被外向者掌控,进行内向者便被妖魔化了。
一下是以往存在的一些偏见和内向者的一些特点:
性格内向并不意味着孤僻
所谓性格内向,在于他的主要精力都来源并用于于对自我内在的关注,这与孤僻不同。内向者并不排斥与人交际,但是拥有天性使然,与人交际会消耗内向者过多精力,所以内向者通常习惯于与少数几个密友进行更深的交流,或者经常仅仅是倾听,而非表达,因为讲话是很累的。
对我而言:
我是一个典型的内向但不孤僻的人。对我而言朋友是很少的,并不一定会把经常见面的人当作朋友看。我极度缺乏动力与别人交流。对我而言,为什么一定要找别人说两句?没有一个明确的目的而去找人交流真是不可思议。
内向者更专注
天性使然,内向者往往对外界的刺激的接受量较少。这意味着内向者通常习惯于对少量信息进行内部深加工。也就是说内向者通常倾向于深度而非广度,这导致内向者容易在某一领域作出成绩。
对我而言:
我最喜欢做的事情莫过于专注的观察自己,在自己的内心世界寻找乐趣与满足。我有一种与生俱来的求知欲与思考复杂问题的能力,但代价是我不喜欢和人过度交流,喜欢自言自语的思考某些问题,比如经济学模型或者计算机算法。频繁的交流会不断的转移我的主意力。这意味着我不得不不断的花费大量的精力去重新focus on the book,因此最我来说最好的选择就是凡是闭嘴。
内向者的言语表达
性格内向并不等同于言语表达能力差。内向者往往倾向于进行一对一的有思想深度的对话,同时他们很不能适应没有原因的闲聊。闲聊对于内向者来说也许是最不可思议的事情。内向者甚至会主动禁止自更喜欢己在某些场合说话。
对我而言:
我的语言表达能力并不是很好,但绝对不差。我去表达自己的观点,除此之外,我不想说一句话。
内向者善于观察
这一点书中多有论述,相比于交流,内向者通常更会去观察人与人之间的关系。
个性的生理基础
科学家认为,人的个性是先天性的,受到自身特有的基因结构决定。虽然科学家对人大脑的研究还处于探索阶段,但已经发现了一些重大的线索。
一个人的个性,大概可以被看作是由人的大脑神经通路与神经递质和人的自主神经系统的相互作用的结果。研究表明,内向者的神经通路要不外向者复杂的多,也就是说,血液在内向者的大脑流动的时间更长,使其大脑更活跃,更容易进行思考;相反,外向者的通路短,使其对刺激个感觉灵敏而短暂,促使其寻求更多的刺激。
研究表明,在神经递质方面,内向者是多巴胺的敏感者,外向者是多巴胺的不敏感者。外向者是多巴胺的不敏感者,说明外向者需要更多的多巴胺才能获得与内向者一样的刺激。多巴胺有助于刺激大脑兴奋。研究发现,对多巴胺不敏感的人通常会追求花样跳伞,蹦极,攀登等极限运动,他们对重复的繁琐的事情时分厌烦,喜欢新奇的事物,喜好追求极限。对多巴胺敏感的人,由于少量的多巴胺已经可以令其满足,所以他们成为低新奇探求者,他们满足于较慢的生活节奏,从兴奋和冒险中,他们更多的感觉是不舒服,而不是享受。他们是有秩序的和小心谨慎的,喜欢常规带来的舒适和对事物的熟悉;因此,他们不会有太多的冒险。低新奇探求者在开始从事某事之前,喜欢在脑海中思考较长远的景象,因此他们在长期的事业中会做的很好,他们性情平和,善于倾听,对人忠诚。
对我而言:我想我是典型的多巴胺敏感者。
