I think this book is useless when you know R and m

When I read this book, I installed the software by this book said.

However, I did not recommend you to read this book when you know how to use R and matlab.

As we know, python is easy to study, and many libraries you can add to the area of data analysis. So, when you studying some algorithms related web mining or big data, I think you can do some projects to make you familiar with data analysis with python, rather than learning data analysis by this way.

However, if you new to python, I recommend this book for you, just know some computation in python, do not remember all of the syntax of these computation.

After all, this book is good enough to know python, however, you have known matlab or R, it is waster of time in this direction.

You know programming language is not problem, you should focus on the algorithms.

不能说完全是python写的，对性能要求比较高的部分是C++实现的。
因为不是高频交易，似乎没有发现性能方面的问题。

楼主太绝对了
我会matlab，但是我们的系统使用Python写的
那么这个时候直接使用Python来进行数据分析比用matlab方便多了
另外，作为编程语言，python比matlab好太多了。python的IDE比matlab的也好N多。
做一些简单的活，直接打开一个Ipython也比打开笨重的matlab块多了。

怎么说呢，各取所需吧
我r用了比较久了，但是仍感到python需要学习
而学习python绝不是为了替代r，是为了更好的混合编程

对于研究来说，可能一个语言就够了
