Brave New World•短评

This book made me shudder a lot and the plot in the book is akin to the movie The Island~Brave new world, how sarcastic it is. How a Brutal New World.

I used to think about the advance of technique and the possbility of engineering out all our human flaws. But wouldn't we engineer out what makes us human, our soul? On the other hand, could we stop this advancement if one day it became possible? Isn't it in our human nature that to choose value over soul?

like 1984, one of the novels of ideas. Not sure i like it, but surely it is quite a tour of enlightening. for novels of its genre, it is the best for sure.

"Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent, the right to have syphilis and cancer, the right to have little to eat, the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen tomorrow, the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind" life means enjoy greatly and suffer greatly both with those that love me and alone.

Babies "produced" in bottles on assembly line can be one of the horrifying images that gradually grows into classics. Today we may have new fears but this one was a good one from the time when Ford was a rising star.
