It's hard for me to imagine what life was like in the old south. Even though I learned about racism in history class, I cannot picture the pain and torture that the colored people had to suffer. Sofia is my fav char just because she truly stood up for herself and set herself in a position equally to men. Lastly, praise for the African brothers.

前半部分因为真实残忍而特别唤起读者的共情,但后半部分开始说教,让人物时不时抛出一两句“点题”的话,反而把读者推远了。印象最深刻的是Sophia的惊艳出场和人生经历,最让人扼腕的是当Sophia的丈夫请教如何能制服她,Celie自己作为一个女人说“Beat her”。女人是女人自己的加害者,也是自己的解放者。

Celia从最初的无声成长为为自己发声并且能够心怀爱而不依赖爱,Shug在其中起到了粘合剂催化剂的作用,所以她真的是阳光一样的蜜糖。其实不只是C所代表的黑人女性在成长,像Mr____,Hapo他们也都有成长为Waulker理想的样子,能够爱和包容。
