Jane Logan, a contract-for-hire engineer at Global Airlines, worries about a lot of things-her future, her finances, her recent move. Now she has something new to worry about. Global has been plagued by a series of incidents causing interrupted flights but nothing worse-so far. Despite her uncertain status, she is asked to look into possible causes. The more deeply she probes, the more it seems that Global's employees are hiding something. When an aircraft mechanic agrees to speak to her but turns up dead, and his wife, on her way to headquarters, is DOA, Jane has to ask, were they both murdered? Her affair with a state senator is also suspect. Was their meeting an accident? The reason for Global's problems run deep within and outside the company.
