As indicated by the subtitle, Stix and Stonz is a book of poetry written during the last quarter of the twentieth century. It contains 38 previously unpublished poemsaranging from free verse, haiku, syllabic, and avant-garde to proseawhich were selected with an overview to diversity of merit, style, and content. The apologia provided a medium for my philosophy and allowed me to advocate the arts (with an emphasis on literature) in the hope of encouraging and perhaps inspiring artists of all genres to believe in themselves, exercise and explore their potential, forge their own way, and strive for excellence in artistic expression. This is my first and last collection. However, in addition to my passion for poetry, it is a testament to my tenacity and triumph over illiteracy. Stix and Stonz has truly been a labor of love, and it is my meager contribution to modern culture.
