For thirty-one years, Dutch Fleming has been driving tractor trailer trucks across the United States. By accident, this dark, dreary night, he would face the biggest challenge of his career. On a beautiful sunny afternoon, Bethany Anne Monroe is abducted in Montrose, Colorado. Dutch is in the area at the time and sees her and her two friends at Emmaas Diner. The police find Dutch in his hotel room and begin to question him. He does not have the girl, but the route he is going to take may help them find her. In the middle of the night, Dutch is going to cross the dreaded Red Mountain Pass. Halfway into his journey, the truck breaks down. He notices a red blinking light buried at the bottom of the mountain. On foot, he descends down the steep mountainside. What he finds is devastating and fills his heart with terror. This is a story about the determination of a twelve-year-old girl and a Tennessee truck driver. They fight for their lives and the lives of each other.
