History has it that the beginning of the first all-Black newspaper company dates back to March of 1827 (A History of the Black PressaArmistead S. Pride and Clint C. Wilson, II). It was then that Freedomas Journal came on the scene as a vehicle for strengthening the Negro voice against an onslaught of attacks from the White media. Since that time, hundreds of Black newspapers have opened across the United States. Some were fortunate enough to weather the storm and survive for years, while others rose only to fall to their unexpected and untimely demise after only a few short months. In his book The Ebony Tribune, Mr. Gaddis takes the reader on an inside tour of the inner workings of the media world. Go on a visit to meet the people and the tools that they use to control the minds of the masses. See how they masterfully use the newspapers to bind politics and religion (two items that should be separate) to such a degree that communities become totally confused. Black or White, the purpose is the sameaprogram and influence the minds of the people.
