Arthur Stephenson was born in Knowsley Village, Lancashire, UK, which was a rural village in 1955. He served for 12 years in the armed forces in the Household Cavalry, the Royal Horse Guards, 1st Dragoons (the Blues and Royals RHG/D) and attended the University of Central Lancashire Newton Rigg Campus (1999) where he obtained a degree in game and wildlife management. Arthur is a qualified gamekeeper/stalker by profession, and has now moved to the Isle of Lewis and Harris, an island in the Outer Hedrides of Scotland, where he now produces handmade writing instruments using exotic woods. This allows plenty of time in a peaceful location to create both poetry and works of art in wood. Arthur is now learning Gaelic, the mother tongue of the Isle, and is looking forward to writing poetry in Gaelicalucky, because he now lives in a beautiful part of the world where contemplation inspires verse.
