Born in 1945, McCoy and his wife Vickie moved from Colorado to Texas in 1988. They have two married daughters and three grandchildren. After teaching for many years, McCoy left the profession. Soon after, he completed What We Work With....Troubling Times for Educators, published in 2002. The poems selected for Life in Context were composed over a forty-year period at various times. Many of the writings combine the authoras personal experience with a rather subjective conviction about those experiences. Others are pure imagination, but could well fall within the context of anyoneas life. From childhood to adult life, McCoy blends the joyous, humorous, and happy times with the darker adversity and misfortune found in our various relationships, realities and fantasies. Poems written later speak to a achanging intuition, a as individual priorities and religious beliefs continue to evolve with age and awareness. aPoetry is my favorite literary style because it allows me the greatest occasion to fashion words into a language of expression that most closely recreates memories into an art form.a As we are searching to be found; we are bound to find our mind begging to be searched.
