Gloria Ngezaho was born in 1982, in Bujumbura, the capital city of Burundi. This central African country is located in the region that is notoriously known today for the genocide that took place in 1994. A survivor of one of the most cruel acts of our time, Gloria was force to run away like many others at the age of 12. From Central to the East, and to the Southern regions of Africa, Gloria learned to speak English, French, Kirundi, Kiswahili, Nyandja and Swahili. He immigrated to the United States in 2002. He is currently pursuing an international relations degree at Portland State University. Faces of Love is about the many cultures he learned, the people he met and the amazing things that happened to him along the way. It is about those people who have turned his horrific war experiences into a lifetime of happiness. Faces of love is about this exposure that has inspired him to look in the past, the present and the future, and to appreciate life.
