Kristy Schulz, a twenty-year-old college student, began writing poetry during her early high school years. Inspired by her teacher, Adrian Reinis, and her boyfriend, Jonathon Cross, she submitted a poem she wrote to Main Thing, the high schoolas magazine for studentsa writing and artwork, and was surprised to see her work published for the very first time. As Kristy got older, writing became a way for her to express herself. Kristy soon realized she had been blessed with a God-given talent and wished to share it with the world. Being encouraged by several family members, friends and mentors, she went on to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a published author and in October of 2005 released her first collection of poems, Into the Garden of My Heart: A Book of Poems. Kristy continues to write poetry in her spare time, and is working on a third book, which will include a collection of poems dedicated in her grandmothers memory, and hopes to have it released by 2007.
