Traditional aristocratic geographic dissention causes a pair of young lovers to flee their dissident Saxon and Norman families. They seek a new life, in the mid-sixteen hundreds, in the promising new world. After reviewing their upbringing in Europe, their Atlantic voyage experience strengthens their mutual trust and future hopes. The lengthy trip is their bridge to a new beginning. They discover this new, mostly uncharted land poses many hardships. Their courage overcomes their doubts as they form kinships among fellow travelers, settlers, local natives, and newly imported slaves. The latter becomes the catalyst for an unexpected climax. Although a novel, many persons and places are factual, based on referral to World Book Encyclopedia, and public library microfilm archives, plus historical history volumes of the American Indians.
