David A. Kennedy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 29, 1956. He is a self-taught musician who began to play in Philadelphia area bands in the early 1970s. While composing original songs, David discovered that he possessed a particular talent for writing lyrics. However, he soon found that musical compositions could not provide him with the proper outlet for total poetic self-expression. In 1972, he composed his first poem free of musical accompaniment. Since that time, he has written more than three hundred poems in rhyme and free verse. Word Stew is a collection of Davidas finest works. His writings explore varied themes that are sometimes dark, sometimes introspective, sometimes spiritual, sometimes humorous, but always germane to the human condition. David currently resides in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in world languages, and a masteras degree in education, both from Holy Family University. David serves as director of a small private school in Yardley, Pennsylvania, where he also teaches Spanish and English. He continues to perform as a musician and express his innermost thoughts through his poetic creations.
