It's New York and it's 1996. The provisional IRA has an agenda, and ex-SAS trooper Mark Makken has been hired as the bodyguard to one of America's wealthiest widows, Nancy Willis. Her husband has been killed in a suspicious boating accident and she has become paranoid somebody will want her dead next. When a bungled kidnapping attempt ends in tragedy, Makken and his client are forced on the run while he uses all his experience and specialized training to find out who is behind the failed kidnapping and why. Suddenly, friends become foes and nobody can be trusted, not even the police.
