Deidre Estam, a twenty something Israeli journalist, survives being blown up in a skirmish. Following recovery she accepts a diplomatic appointmentain Africa. On arrival in Botswana her mission is to help homeless people. Assisting Deidre is her colleague, David Ben Gersh. David and Deidre have a run-in with a Middle East killer. Only after being forced to eliminate him does a shocked David uncover the insurgentas identity, a man head known years previously in Israel. Disenchanted, David returns to his Galilee home. He invites Deidre to join him. She declines, unsure of her feelings for him. She is disenchanted on two counts. The first is when a mining engineer she had feelings for displays his fickleness.
