In the African-American community, we all choose to have our own code of conduct that we groove to in everyday living, like the four former friends of George Harper High School in suburban Illinois. Tanya grooved to the beat of money, and Elaine moved to the rhythm of fame in modeling. Darryl danced to the tune of money and fame, and Randy awaited his right music to dance to. While they all aimed high for their prize, they didnat realize the importance of life, love, and family. Tanya, the successful gold digger and entrepreneur, wanted to marry a man with money. Elaine, a single mother of two, dreamed of being a famous model, but also dreamed of having her children have a mommy and a daddy to help raise them. Darryl, a full-time stripper with a big-time male-ego problem, not only did whatever he could to get more money for his home, but more women to feed his libido, even if it meant sacrificing his marriage. Randy, the angry, bisexual man, was looking for answers to his confusion; not confusion about his sexuality, but confusion about how to find happiness in living. While they all strived differently for their pot of gold in life, they all became their own worst enemies as their journey to get what their hearts most desired turned into chaos, madnessa]and even murder.
