WWII changed many lives. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, many young men enlisted to serve their country. Among them, Robert Cavelli. Before he was to leave for duty, his father arranged a farewell party. It is here he meets Jean Rosati. They are immediately drawn to each other and fall in love. Jeanas happiness is shattered when one day the news comes that Robert has been killed in action. Her heart broken, she is inconsolable. Fifteen months later, she marries but cannot love her husband. She searches for Robert in other men fruitlessly until she meets Peter.
