The Shaman's Apprentice

In a cold January night, Jean Brody encounters a wolf running through a mist in her suburban neighborhood. The mystical sighting moves her to find her right place in the world. Months later, she meets a shaman teacher named Coyote Woman and becomes her apprentice. As her apprenticeship advances, Jean faces her own personal struggles as she battles her teacher's controlling and dysfunctional behavior. She encounters many initiations, not the least of which is a fierce betrayal from the teacher she once admired and respected. During this time she meets her power animal, Red Eagle, who leads her into the world of non-ordinary realities. Grounded in integrity, Jean makes a life-threatening decision. She not only challenges the deception of Coyote Woman but also holds her accountable for the cruel measures she uses in her practice. The decision empowers her in an unexpected way.
