In order to be truly happy you need to rid yourself of anything that isn't you. A lesson learned by Harry Hayes, a computer programmer and former Rock'n'Roll junkie, and Johnny "Brunzkowitz" Calloway, his former drug courier, on their race to the top. Harry wants to make it as a Rock'n'Roller. Brunzkowitz wants to be the head of a drug empire. Along the way they are joined by Belle, Harry's girlfriend and country singer, Donny, a used car salesman and bass player, and many more colourful figures. Harry and Brunzkowitz find each other cutting one another off at every major turning point. This is the ironic pinnacle of their joined history, now brought to you as "To the beat of the drum."
