Ann Holmes is a middle school teacher who finds herself owning a townhouse and experiencing all the trials and tribulations that come with renting out rooms to friends. There she copes with feuding roommates, a spewing furnace, a resident specter and holiday parties. When her next door neighboras husband moves in, things get more stressful than she expected. Annas mother, Delores, is diagnosed with terminal cancer forcing Ann to cope with her wacky life along with her motheras pending demise. Since Delores believes that she is alive because of her daughter, she shares with Ann intimate details and inexplicable phenomena of her dying process. Set in Baltimore in the 70as, this is the story of relationships both humorous and inspirational.
