Brian Patrick Merrick starting writing poetry in his teen years, and at times it was his only escape for mental illness. His poetry is heartfelt and imaginative and has captured an audience all over the world for his written word and poetry with music. Some of the poetry is a cry for sanity at the worst times, and as time goes on, a plea to help others with similar struggles. He has been published 11 times, has won the editor's choice award from the International Library of Poetry, and has also been featured in a spoken word CD called "The Sound of Poetry." Some describe his poetry as hardcore and straightforward, but that's up to you to decide.
