Tabitha and Tobi met as teenagers when his father and uncle, both anthropologists, came to her village in Nigeria to do some research. For Tobi it was an opportunity to learn more about his people, and for Tabitha it was her duty to see to it that their guests were well taken care of. These two teenagers from totally different worlds find love after a revelation from the healing hands of an old woman shows that their destinies are linked. Tobi returns to London after promising to come back for her, and Tabitha goes on to the university. They try their best to keep in touch through letters, but drift apart as cultural and environmental differences coupled with the peer pressures of growing up. The drastic change in the innocent church girl he once knew is shocking. Thus they begin the journey of innocence, hope, love and pain.
