Neil Washburn, The First of the Mountain Men

His wilderness skills are honed to razor sharpness as a top spy and scout with Simon Kenton during the Indian wars along the Kentucky frontier in the late 1700s. At the age of 34, he was considered too old to join the Corps of Discovery, so Neil Washburn decided to go to the Rocky Mountains alone. He searched for furs, adventure, and the cure for a wandering soul. In his search he found land that no Whiteman ever saw.
