Living hundreds of miles apart, Gaile and Jill find that they have each captured the attention of the same stalker. Haunted by letters that have gone unclaimed by their author, the two find themselves together at Gaileas home, back to back, waiting for the final moment. The targets of a demented mind, the women struggle with whether to involve the police or to find the identity of the stalker themselves. Added to the confusion is a houseful of close family and employees whom Gaile has known for years; but evidence proves that one of them is the sender. Added to this tension are the feelings that Jill is developing for West, Gaileas brother. The urgency soon becomes undeniable, as Gaile and Jill work to decipher the clues to the identity of the sender before one or both of them fall prey to one final attack.
