ABSTRACT: The notion of convergence is conceived as having two modes that drive movement toward a center on different principles: Convergence Attraction (CA), Convergence Buoyancy (CB). Here the notion of attraction is restricted to use only for indicating the interactions of opposite polarities, such as {N, S} for magnetism and {+, -} for electric charges, etc. A simplistic bifurcation into poles such as {+, -} and its neutral form {0} may be misleading. A strong positive charge relating to a weak positive charge can appear to be a relation between a positive and a negative charge, etc., as Maxwell pointed out. The underpinning logic here leads to a new basis for convergence relationships. The CB model uses the concept of buoyancy as a kind of measure for this convergence of like polarities. Newton gravitation does not fit in CA or CB. It leaves out the possibility of convergence buoyancy therefore is not CB, his 'attraction' is a monopole and therefore is not CA.
